Our Jazz Appreciation Month (JAM) series continues with a special birthday tribute to Freddie Hubbard, Billie Holiday, and Carmen McRae!
Celebrate Easter weekend and the arrival of spring with an uplifting afternoon of music, presented by Fareed Simpson Hankins, Luke Carlos O’Reilly and guests. Enjoy two sets of jazz performances honoring the music (and birthdays!) of some giants of jazz, all performed from Hatfield House’s front porch portico stage. Freddie Hubbard and Billie Holiday’s birthdays are on April 7th and Carmen McRae’s is on April 8th.
During intermission, children and adults are encouraged to join an Easter egg hunt on the grounds of Hatfield. Eggs will contain candy and tickets for prizes!
Bring your own food, refreshments, a lawn chair or a picnic blanket, and make yourself at home on the front lawn of the Hatfield House! A birthday cake and Easter treats will be available for all!
( In the event of rain, performances will be moved inside the house with limited seating on a first come, first serve basis. Doors open at 11:30 AM. )
